Devin Battiston
Vice President, Acquisitions

Mr. Battiston is a Vice President on the Acquisitions team, where he is responsible for analysis and execution of acquisition transactions and asset management initiatives.

Prior to joining Formation Capital in 2012, Mr. Battiston worked for Bank of America Merrill Lynch for six years. His experience focused on origination and structuring of leveraged and investment grade syndicated loans, CMBS and sale-leasebacks with over $30 billion of transaction experience across the real estate and lodging industries.

Mr. Battiston graduated from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia with a B.S. in Commerce and concentrations in Finance and Management.

Katherine Boelte
Vice President of Finance & Administration

Ms. Boelte joined Formation Capital in March 2015 as Vice President of Finance & Administration. She is responsible for the books and records of Formation Capital, cash management and treasury administration for corporate and portfolio accounts, as well as fund setup and administration.

Prior to Formation Capital she was the Vice President & Treasurer at HD Supply, one of the largest industrial distributers in North America. Ms. Boelte spent 10 years with Caraustar Industries in various finance and accounting roles and started her career as an auditor for Deloitte & Touche LLP.

Ms. Boelte is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Association of Financial Professionals, CFO Leadership Council, and the Corporate Treasurers Council. She is an actively licensed CPA and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a major in Accounting.

Scott E. Brown
Managing Director, Portfolio Management

Mr. Brown joined Formation Capital in 2007. As head of Portfolio Management at Formation Capital, Mr. Brown is responsible for asset management, fund administration, portfolio compliance, and investor reporting. Prior to Formation Capital, Mr. Brown served in various executive-level corporate finance, general management, and private equity advisory positions.

Mr. Brown earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering with high distinction from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Trissie Copses Farr
Senior Vice President, Formation Healthcare Group

Ms. Farr leads Formation Healthcare Group (FHG), Formation's in-house clinical advisory team that specializes in assessing, analyzing and monitoring quality and regulatory measures of senior housing and long-term care operations. FHG plays a critical role in Formation Capital's underwriting and asset management process.

Prior to joining Formation Capital, Ms. Farr was critical in the success of Quality Monitoring, LLC, which in 2007 became Formation Healthcare Group. Prior to the merger with Formation Capital, she pioneered the development and technological advancement of a proprietary clinical/regulatory web-enabled database and reporting system, known as Quality In-CiteTM.

Ms. Farr's 30 year healthcare career began as a Physician Assistant in direct care clinical environments. Ms. Farr's significant experience includes positions in sales, management, marketing, strategic planning, outsourced ancillary services management, loss prevention, risk management, business development, and regulatory compliance.

Ms. Farr received a B.S. degree from the College of Charleston and her Physician Assistant certification at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Stephanie Hamner
Senior Vice President, Asset Management

Ms. Hamner is responsible for asset management, fund administration, portfolio compliance and investor reporting.  Prior to joining Formation Capital in 2012, Ms. Hamner worked in GE Healthcare Financial Services’ real estate group for six years, most recently as a Vice President concentrating on underwriting and portfolio management.  Prior to joining GE HFS, Ms. Hamner was the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis at CNBC and a Senior Investment Analyst for GE Capital.

Ms. Hamner earned her B.A. in Economics with honors from Vanderbilt University.

David Hecht
Senior Vice President, Acquisitions

Mr. Hecht is responsible for origination and execution of new equity and debt investments, as well as the management of acquired real estate assets and portfolio companies. Prior to joining Formation Capital, Mr. Hecht worked as the Vice President of Acquisitions for HealthPro Rehabilitation, a private equity backed company focused on post-acute rehabilitation.  Before joining HealthPro, Mr. Hecht was an Associate at JER Partners, a private equity real estate firm.  Mr. Hecht began his career as a management consultant for Oliver Wyman.

During his career, Mr. Hecht has been involved in over $3.0 billion of healthcare-related acquisitions, including Trident USA, Genesis HealthCare, and In-House Hospice.

Mr. Hecht received an A.B. in Politics from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

Grant Johnston
Vice President, Operating Company Asset Management

Mr. Johnston is responsible for the ongoing management of operating company investments, including portfolio compliance, investor relations, execution of growth strategies and profit optimization.

Prior to joining Formation Capital, Mr. Johnston worked in GE Capital Healthcare Financial Services’ leverage lending group for six years, most recently as a Vice President focused on underwriting and portfolio management.  Before joining GE HFS, Mr. Johnston was an Associate in GE Capital’s Risk Management Leadership Program.  Mr. Johnston began his career as a small business banking and retail branch manager at Wells Fargo Bank.

Mr. Johnston earned a B.A. in Spanish and a B.A. in Business Management from North Carolina State University, an International M.B.A. with a concentration in Finance and Spanish from the Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina and a Masters of Accounting from North Carolina State University.

Courtney Nickels
Vice President, Acquisitions

Ms. Nickels joined Formation Capital in 2012 as an Associate on the Acquisitions team and is now Vice President. She is responsible for analysis and execution of acquisition transactions and asset management initiatives.

Prior to joining the company, Ms. Nickels worked in real estate private equity as an Associate in the US fund investment management group at JER Partners in McLean, Virginia and an acquisitions Analyst with the JBG Companies in Chevy Chase, Maryland.

Ms. Nickels is a 2008 graduate of the University of Virginia, where she studied Finance and Management at the McIntire School of Commerce.

Pamela Rosen
General Counsel

Ms. Rosen joined Formation Capital in July 2015 as General Counsel. She provides legal counsel, guidance and strategic advice on all aspects of Formation’s operations. She is responsible for the legal affairs of the company. Prior to joining Formation Capital, Rosen worked in the corporate departments of Kirkland & Ellis LLP and Williams Mullen. In those roles she represented private equity clients in connection with financings for mergers and acquisitions transactions and general corporate matters. Before attending law school, Ms. Rosen was a Teach For America corps member and taught sixth grade math in Miami, Florida.

Ms. Rosen is licensed to practice law in New York and Virginia. She earned a JD-MPH, with honors, from Emory University and a B.A., summa cum laude, from Binghamton University.

David Russ
Managing Director, Acquisitions

Mr. Russ is involved in all aspects of Formation Capital's acquisition efforts including origination, structuring and execution as well as strategic initiatives for portfolio companies.

Prior to joining Formation Capital in March 2010, David enjoyed a ten-year investment banking career in New York including eight years with Bear Stearns and two years with RBC Capital Markets. His experience focused on private equity financing and included more than 50 transactions representing more than $30 billion of capital across various industries including healthcare, aerospace and defense, consumer products and technology.

Mr. Russ earned his B.A. with honors from Vanderbilt University, an M.B.A. from Duke University and the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Ashish Shah
Managing Director

Ashish Shah joined Formation Capital in 2015 as part of launching Formation Lending Group (FLG). Ashish leads business development and managing capital markets activities.

Prior to joining Formation, Ashish was a Senior Director at Oxford Finance in a business development and capital markets role. Previously, he has also worked at GE Healthcare Financial Services and Heller Financial in business development and underwriting roles.

Ashish holds a BBA in Finance from the University of Iowa and a MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Kelly Sheehy
Managing Director, Acquisitions

Mr. Sheehy is a Managing Director at Formation Capital, where he helps oversee Formation’s effort to identify new investment opportunities in real estate and healthcare private equity.

Since joining Formation Capital in 2011, Mr. Sheehy has led the execution of over $2.2 billion in new investments across all investment types. In addition to leading the recent $1.0 billion real estate sale of healthcare assets to NorthStar Realty, he was directly involved in and led investments in TridentUSA, Tandem Health Care and the Ranger Assisted Living Portfolio.

Prior to joining Formation Capital in 2011, Mr. Sheehy worked at JER Partners, a private equity real estate firm, where he was a Vice President and was involved in a number of equity and M&A transactions, including the take private and sale of Genesis HealthCare.

Mr. Sheehy serves (through 2014) as the Chairman of the Future Leaders Council for the National Investment Center for the Senior Housing and Care Industry (NIC).

Mr. Sheehy received a B.S. in Commerce from the McIntire School at the University of Virginia.
