Scott E. Brown
Senior Vice President, Portfolio Management
Mr. Brown joined Formation Capital in 2007. As head of Portfolio Management at Formation Capital, Mr. Brown is responsible for asset management, fund administration, portfolio compliance, and investor reporting. Prior to Formation Capital, Mr. Brown served in various executive-level corporate finance, general management, and private equity advisory positions.
Mr. Brown earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering with high distinction from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Trissie Copses Farr
Senior Vice President, Formation Healthcare Group
Ms. Farr leads Formation Healthcare Group (FHG), Formation's in-house clinical advisory team that specializes in assessing, analyzing and monitoring quality and regulatory measures of senior housing and long-term care operations. FHG plays a critical role in Formation Capital's underwriting and asset management process.
Prior to joining Formation Capital, Ms. Farr was critical in the success of Quality Monitoring, LLC, which in 2007 became Formation Healthcare Group. Prior to the merger with Formation Capital, she pioneered the development and technological advancement of a proprietary clinical/regulatory web-enabled database and reporting system, known as Quality In-CiteTM.
Ms. Farr's 30 year healthcare career began as a Physician Assistant in direct care clinical environments. Ms. Farr's significant experience includes positions in sales, management, marketing, strategic planning, outsourced ancillary services management, loss prevention, risk management, business development, and regulatory compliance.
Ms. Farr received a B.S. degree from the College of Charleston and her Physician Assistant certification at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Christina K. Firth
Chief Compliance Officer; Senior Vice President, Business & Regulatory Affairs
Ms. Firth joined Formation Capital in 2005 as Vice President, where she has contributed to over $4.0 billion in investments in senior housing and healthcare assets. Ms. Firth is involved in investment underwriting and execution, litigation management and corporate governance. Ms. Firth's senior housing and healthcare transaction experience at Formation Capital includes independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, institutional pharmacy, contract therapy, hospice, mobile imaging and new market tax credits for senior housing purchases.
Prior to joining Formation Capital, Ms. Firth was Litigation Manager for Mariner Health Care Management Company, an Atlanta based company. While at Mariner, she participated in the successful merger of National Senior Care and Mariner Health Care, Inc., an acquisition totaling over $1.0 billion in real estate assets and managed over 400 general liability/professional liability lawsuits nationally.
Ms. Firth holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, with a concentration in healthcare management and a Bachelor of Arts from Agnes Scott College.
Vice President, Real Estate Asset Management
Ms. Hamner is responsible for asset management, fund administration, portfolio compliance and investor reporting. Prior to joining Formation Capital in 2012, Ms. Hamner worked in GE Healthcare Financial Services’ real estate group for six years, most recently as a Vice President concentrating on underwriting and portfolio management. Prior to joining GE HFS, Ms. Hamner was the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis at CNBC and a Senior Investment Analyst for GE Capital.
Ms. Hamner earned her B.A. in Economics with honors from Vanderbilt University.
Vice President, Acquisitions
Mr. Hecht is responsible for origination and execution of new equity and debt investments, as well as the management of acquired real estate assets and portfolio companies. Prior to joining Formation Capital, Mr. Hecht worked as the Vice President of Acquisitions for HealthPro Rehabilitation, a private equity backed company focused on post-acute rehabilitation. Before joining HealthPro, Mr. Hecht was an Associate at JER Partners, a private equity real estate firm. Mr. Hecht began his career as a management consultant for Oliver Wyman.
During his career, Mr. Hecht has been involved in over $3.0 billion of healthcare-related acquisitions, including Trident USA, Genesis HealthCare, and In-House Hospice.
Mr. Hecht received an A.B. in Politics from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
Vice President, Operating Company Asset Management
Mr. Johnston is responsible for the ongoing management of operating company investments, including portfolio compliance, investor relations, execution of growth strategies and profit optimization.
Prior to joining Formation Capital, Mr. Johnston worked in GE Capital Healthcare Financial Services’ leverage lending group for six years, most recently as a Vice President focused on underwriting and portfolio management. Before joining GE HFS, Mr. Johnston was an Associate in GE Capital’s Risk Management Leadership Program. Mr. Johnston began his career as a small business banking and retail branch manager at Wells Fargo Bank.
Mr. Johnston earned a B.A. in Spanish and a B.A. in Business Management from North Carolina State University, an International M.B.A. with a concentration in Finance and Spanish from the Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina and a Masters of Accounting from North Carolina State University.
Senior Vice President, Acquisitions
Mr. Russ is involved in all aspects of Formation Capital's acquisition efforts including origination, structuring and execution as well as strategic initiatives for portfolio companies.
Prior to joining Formation Capital in March 2010, David enjoyed a ten-year investment banking career in New York including eight years with Bear Stearns and two years with RBC Capital Markets. His experience focused on private equity financing and included more than 50 transactions representing more than $30 billion of capital across various industries including healthcare, aerospace and defense, consumer products and technology.
Mr. Russ earned his B.A. with honors from Vanderbilt University, an M.B.A. from Duke University and the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Senior Vice President, Acquisitions
Mr. Sheehy is a Senior Vice President at Formation Capital, where he helps oversee Formation’s effort to identify new investment opportunities in real estate and healthcare private equity.
Since joining Formation Capital in 2011, Mr. Sheehy has led the execution of over $2.2 billion in new investments across all investment types. In addition to leading the recent $1.0 billion real estate sale of healthcare assets to NorthStar Realty, he was directly involved in and led investments in TridentUSA, Tandem Health Care and the Ranger Assisted Living Portfolio.
Prior to joining Formation Capital in 2011, Mr. Sheehy worked at JER Partners, a private equity real estate firm, where he was a Vice President and was involved in a number of equity and M&A transactions, including the take private and sale of Genesis HealthCare.
Mr. Sheehy serves (through 2014) as the Chairman of the Future Leaders Council for the National Investment Center for the Senior Housing and Care Industry (NIC).
Mr. Sheehy received a B.S. in Commerce from the McIntire School at the University of Virginia.
